Vehicle Damage to Home in Lima, Ohio
In July of 2023, a minivan drove off the street and into the side of a brick house. We were called out to secure the property, and our team was on-site quickly to board up the massive hole in the brick wall.
Cleaning up was the first task of this project, as we removed all of the debris from the wreckage. We removed the flooring in the living room and the drywall off the two affected walls.
Then we built a “false wall” to protect the rest of the home from being affected by the weather and any curious critters during the next phase of restoration. It also kept all of the masonry dust outside the home while the walls were being restored.
All of the outward-facing brick was removed on the impacted wall and the street-facing wall. Then the wall was rebuilt, tying into the original brick walls at the corners.
Once the outside was completed, the inner “false wall” was removed, and the living room’s inside walls were built, covered in drywall, and then painted. The final step was fresh carpet and lighting.
This project was finished the beginning of December. There seemed to be multiple hoops to jump through with this project, so the timeline took longer than most projects do.
Yet our team remained consistent to restore the home in a timely manner, to enable to home owner to move back in once the repairs were finished.
