COURSE DESCRIPTION: ENGINE COMPANY TACTICAL
We’ve all experienced fires that go sideways due to tactical mistakes. These fires often escalate if not addressed promptly. This class will discuss common tactical traps found on fire scenes, such as discount auto part stores, dollar stores, and type 2 construction buildings. These structures offer fortified rear doors, partition walls, and heavy fire loads, as well as access to balloon frame void fires and cockloft and attic fires. Your initial tactical considerations significantly impact the fire’s outcome. While we all make mistakes, it’s how we recover from them that matters Unfortunately, no one on the fire ground can provide immediate assistance. With 33 years of engine company experience and 21 from the right front seat, our expertise is invaluable. We only get one chance to set the tone for the entire fire.
