What To Do If You Experience Storm Damage?

Author: Chris Massie May 10, 2024

Spring weather in West Central Ohio is often very wet.
Rains saturate the ground, causing minor flooding most years.
Yet those spring rains are delivered through a variety of storms, some of them severe.

High winds, hail, tornadoes, lightning, heavy rains–all of these are likely to happen at least once each spring.

What should you do if your home is damaged by one of these storms?

That’s what we will discuss in today’s article.

Safety First

Your family’s safety is always top priority.
Throughout the storm and immediately after, that should be your focus.

Your home’s safety is the next concern.
Shelter is one of the basic needs of every human being, and the quality of that shelter plays a significant role in your overall safety.

One the storm has passed, evaluate the damage caused to your home.

Make the Call

That’s right!
Call us at Swartz Restoration to help you Dryout, Cleanup and Rebuild after storm damage.

When our team arrives, they are going to assess the damage to your home.
If there are openings in your roof or walls, we will secure your property by using a tarp or boards to prevent further damage until repairs can be made.

After our initial assessment of your home, we will begin to work on an estimate of repairs.
We will submit it to you insurance company, in the format they prefer, so that the process can not be held up or delayed.

Approve the Repairs

Once the estimate has been approved by the insurance company, we will review the scope of work with you before we move forward with ordering materials and scheduling the crews to handle the repairs.
If you have been wanting to update your space or expand your home, this is the time to discuss that so we can help make your dreams reality.

You will be assigned a Project Manager who will oversee the entire restoration phase.
He will have our team order the materials and have them delivered to the jobsite at the proper time.
He will be your contact to keep you up to date on the schedule for repairs.

Ask Questions

We do not work privately, hiding details and the plan from you.
We are transparent with you.

Your Project Manager will keep you updated on the status and timelines of your project.
Yet if you ever have any questions about anything or if something is unclear, we invite you to ask.
We want you to know what’s going on and to feel comfortable with the entire restoration process.

Your questions are not bothersome, so please ask away.

Finished Work

In a matter of weeks or a few short months, your home will be as good as new after we help you restore the damage caused by the storms.

Don’t delay!
